5 Steps to Boost Your Confidence

You know that you need to increase your confidence, but it feels like a daunting task. It can be tough to feel confident when your mind is constantly racing, and negative thoughts plague you.

How about those who seem to achieve anything they set their minds to? The ones that get down with their goals and don't let anything stop them from following through on everything they set out to do.

Well, I'm one of those lucky souls!

It may sound cliche, but it's true: if you really want something bad enough, then there will never be any obstacles in your way because nothing can compare with determination-no matter how strong an obstacle might appear at first glance.

I've had my fair share of days of self-doubt, second-guessing my abilities throughout my career. Despite this, I've learned from some of life's biggest challenges that when you overcome your limiting beliefs and transform self-doubt into confidence and courage, anything is possible.

I invite you to tune into Episode 57 release on April 13th on the Dream Job with Danielle Cobo Podcast, where you’ll learn more in-depth about each step and all seven steps of the steps to building confidence.

Here Are My Five Steps to Boost Your Confidence

Acknowledge The Negative Thoughts Not Serving You

We all know that negative thoughts can hold us back in life, but it's not always easy to get rid of them. It can be tough to break out when you're stuck in a negative thought spiral. All those doubts and fears start to feel like facts, and before you know it, you've talked yourself out of trying again. With self-awareness comes the ability to change your mindset. Don't be afraid to admit when you doubt yourself. Identify what might be contributing to these negative thoughts. Are your goals realistic? Are you comparing your accomplishments to those of others? By learning how to reframe your thoughts, you can start to see yourself in a new light. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which your negative thinking patterns are reframed. Write down five positive affirmations on a piece of paper and hang them in an area you see every day. You can rewire your mind to think positive thoughts about yourself by repeating these affirmations every morning and every night. With practice, this will become second nature, and you'll be able to achieve anything you set your mind to. Whether you are looking to create balance in your life, find a new job, get promoted, or increase your sales performance, I have multiple workbooks with examples of affirmations you can download directly from my website

Celebrate your Successes

We all know that it's important to celebrate our successes, but sometimes it's hard to remember what we've accomplished. It can be tough to keep track of your accomplishments and stay motivated when facing new challenges. Write down one success you've achieved at the end of the day. This will help you stay focused on your progress and remind you of everything you've already accomplished. Seeing other people's success and learning how they overcame a challenge to succeed inspires people. Your family, friends, and colleagues would like to see one of your most recent successes. Share it on social media.

Dress for Success

Feeling confident is hard, especially when you don't feel your best. It's normal to feel down on yourself from time to time, but it's important to remember that confidence comes from the inside out. You can dress the part and put on a brave face, but it'll show if you don't feel good about yourself on the inside. When you're feeling low, take a little extra time getting ready. Dress in clothes that make you feel powerful and beautiful. Power suits are always an excellent option for a quick confidence boost.

You may be surprised one of my favorite places to shop is Amazon. As a business owner, military spouse, and mom to 4-year-old twins, I prefer to have my clothes delivered to my doorstep. Here is a link to check out my favorite finds on Amazon. Click Link to Shop My Favorite Work and Casual Attire

Power Pose

Curious how wonder woman and superman always seemed to be confident? Anxiety can sometimes be debilitating. Your stomach turns into knots, your shoulders tense up, and your hands shake. The wonder woman and superman pose is one way to calm the nerves and increase your confidence in minutes. Stand with your shoulder’s width apart, close your hands into fists, and put your hands on your hips. Remain in this position for 3 to 5 minutes while repeating your favorite affirmations.

This pose helps to ground yourself, calm the nerves, and help reduce anxiety or other negative feelings that might be gripping during these trying times. This pose can help you feel more powerful and capable no matter what life throws your way when practiced regularly.

Create Your Tribe of Allies

It can be hard to know where to start or who to turn to when experiencing self-doubt. It's easy to feel isolated and alone when you're going through a tough time. You may feel like you're the only one going through this, but that's not true. Find your tribe. Surround yourself with people who will support you, mentor you, and cheer you on. People who have been where you are and have the wisdom and experience to help guide you along the way. Anything is possible when you have a tribe of people who believe in you. When you create your tribe allies, ask them, “If you could describe me in one word, what would it be?”. Create a word cloud with all the words people use to describe you and hang it in a place you will see often. Often, our description of ourselves doesn't match what someone else sees.
